Opel GT/J - Rare Coupe in Excellent Condition SOLD (1972) C05419 | | | Not for sale - it has been sold via a Car and Classic Free Ad | | This Super rare Opel Coupe is believed to be 1 of only 2 Genuine GT/Js on the UK Opel GT Owners Club Register. The Opel GT was built between 1968-73 with the vast majority of cars being exported from Germany to the United States. Only 170 examples were officially imported in the UK.
Built in 1972, with a 1.9litre engine and 4 speed gearbox the GT/J is rarer than most of the standard GTs as its specification was aimed at attracting the younger Opel owner. Finished in stunning Metallic Mica, with contrasting black interior this car benifits from the option of front/rear anti-roll bars (a more sporting drive), comes with Polished 7*15 BBS Alloys (with nearly new tyres), Brand New Irmscher Mirrors, period stereo / cassette and has been fully waxoiled and serviced.
Mechanically she drives spot on, has 12months MOT / Tax (please note she is also Tax exempt!), is reasonably economical as long as youre not to heavy with the right foot (wishing to hear the sound from the twin exhausts), she has no rust, is solid underneath, has a near immacualte interior / exterior and generates more interest at Le Mans than a Ferrari for a 5th of the cost.
This is a most regretable sale by a long standing club member, however Im moving house and so one of my GTs must go. Insurance is available from only £85/yr, she has an agreed value of £5500 but is offered for sale at only £4500.
