This is the last AC Ace built and was delivered in 1963. Early history is known and the car disappeared from view for a few years before re-surfacing as a 'barn find' in the late 1990s after which it was prepared for historic racing and was competed in Gentleman drivers and at Goodwood and in Europe. Later aquired by Jonathan Bradburn the car has been progressively developed and has had many race and class wins including 2 Gold Cup class wins, Class win in the Ken Rudd Trophy race and race wins in AMOC and Bentley drivers club and HSCC Historic Road Sports.

It features a 235 bhp Competition Engine Services engine with Raymond Mays head and triple Webers. Close ratio gearbox and magnesium alloy cased limited slip differential. New stub axles, drive shafts, propshaft, brake discs, diff. output shafts, aluminium radiator, foam filled aluminium fuel tank, fire extinguishing system, race seat, FIA spec. belts, race springs, aluminium BR brake callipers, and hardtop have been fitted. There are probably 3 sets of wire wheels all rebuilt by Motor Wheel Services or Peter Rees. There are various spares including road springs and differentials. Rack and pinion steering is fitted but this is interchangeable with Bishop cam steering which is also supplied. The car can be raced in GT form with full screen and hardtop or with aero screen. Weather equipment is also included.

The car has the latest FIA HTP papers and can be offered as a full race package with all spares which can include a spare race engine with Mays head on Webers and a spare road rally engine with Mays head on Webers and possibly a 175 bhp iron head engine on triple SUs - all engines by Competition Engine Services - and also a new CR gearbox plus possibly a ZF OD gearbox.
It could easily be put into normal road spec. and trim including standard retrimmed seats is included also.

This almost certainly the fastest Ace ever raced as is born out by race results and is race ready condition. It has the performance of a Cobra but at half the price. Testing at Silverstone last year alonside a Mk3 Cobra with full race 289 engine the same driver, Simon Crompton, set the same times in both cars.

There are 2 large files with the car detailling history, FIA papers, rebuild and race prep., 'setting up' and tecchnical information and race results. There are alo original sales brochures and copies of original FIA recognition forms together with AC Cars service information and Rubery Owens fitting instructions for the Mays head and others.

As of Nov 2009 the car may have been sold probably in a road state in which case all the various race parts, engines etc will be for sale separately.
