VOLVO P1800ES, SOLD (1973) C100210 | | | Not for sale - it has been sold via a Car and Classic Free Ad | | This is an opportunity to own a beautiful restored example of a 1973 Volvo P1800ES which has benefited from much recent restoration work including a full re-spray. It is in sound, rust free structural condition. Recent full respray in black, and with a liberal amount of chrome, the car looks stunning.
The new owner will benefit from the considerable amount of work and time that has been spent in restoring this vehicle. It is ready to be enjoyed. Being an estate it is a practical vehicle, but could also be used for historic rallies or classic car shows if the new owner wished.
The first 3 owners of this car were in one family. Then it was store from 1987 until 2004 when it was purchased and restoration work commenced.
Since coming into my ownership the car has now had further work completed and more money spent. Details of all the restoration work is listed below.
Unlike many of this series that are advertised, this car is structurally sound, with any problem rust areas having been dealt with. Volvo replacement panels having being fitted to the floors, inner calls, outriggers, cross members, ect. Finally, the body was fully prepared and a given a full re-spray in Jet Black
Mechanically the car is in good order. Being a late model it benefits from the more powerful fuel injected engine which starts immediately and runs strongly, with 70 psi oil pressure, and does not appear to use oil. The gearbox and overdrive are excellent, as are the brakes and suspension. The steering is positive and the car is quite happy cruising at the legal limit.
The car is currently Taxed (Free Historic Tax) and Tested and was recently serviced at 90250 miles. This included an oil filter change, engine/gearbox/diff oil changed and a coolant flush and refill. The oil has just been changed again at the current mileage of 92625.
The car will come with 12 months M.O.T.
The car has an interesting (and now quite valuable) registration number.
There is a history file with the car which includes receipts for spares/panels ect.
