Fiat 500 For Sale (1970) edit C101056 | | | Classic 1970 Fiat 500. Dark blue with black interior. Cheap insurance, free road tax, and good MPG. Will run along the motorway at 55-60mph all day long!
When we got the car we changed the brown/red interior for black seats and a brand new black carpet. We also fitted the 650cc engine as it has a few more horsepower than the original 500cc. It has a high-output coil and transistor ignition to give a better spark without burning the points.
Used several times each week. In February it took us to Cornwall and back - 1150 miles in a week! Passed MOT's since we bought it with no problems at all (apart from being only 'just' wide enough to go over the pit!!). Lots of work done over the last few years and we would lie to keep it, but the arrival of another classic car means this one has to go!
The engine has been upgraded to the 650cc air-cooled engine from a Fiat 126. Just had the oil changed and centrifugal filter cleaned out. We only use quality oil, no cheap stuff. Two very recent new Marshall tyres on the back (the old ones perished, they didn't run out of tread - because the car is so small and light!). Paintwork needs attention and there is a dent on n/s door left by a van driver's door one day.
Various spares can be included by separate negotation, such as brake shoes, wheel bearings, clutch plate, hub nuts, spare 650 engine, two more new tyres, jack, rare engine undertray etc etc.
