Triumph Spitfire Project For Sale (1979) edit C104035 | | | I bought this as a part finished project 18 months ago...ive progressed the build on, but too many other projects are resulting in no time for this project.
Its a 79 spitfire 1500 in green (its the MGRV8 color so a bit like BRG but not quite)
its had a shell off rebuild with any panel showing any rust etc removed and replaced
the front end was replaced with a fiberglass flip front
the engine has had a head gasket/waterpump/radiator and also a nice stailess exhaust with twin tailpipes fitted by me
its also had a new pair of SU carbs fitted which ive set up and balenced
its also had a new clutch master cylinder
the seats have been reupolstered and the dash has been given a once over with all the dodgy broken/ripped bits replaced
windscreen replaced and it also had a new seal when fitted.
it has a set of minilights on now, the tyres are the wrong size (too tall!) and also cracking/balding but they are not expencive as the size is common )i was leaving it till the last job to get a new set!)
the roof was replaced (the old one was blue as the car was before the respray) with a black one which could do with a clean but is all there.
whats left to do....
the door cards need replacing/remaking as the old ones are tired.
It could prob do with a service/ignition leads etc as the old ones have been standing for a couple of years now altho it does start and drive!
the brakes are prob gonna need an overhall as they have been standing for some time, altho again they do work, some bits have already been replaced and there are loads more new bits in the boot
the bonnet has some cracking on the paintwork which really needs doing to make the car look its best, altho being fiberglass its not gonna be rusting any time soon.
there may be a few more odd jobs required, but certainly nothing major
Its cost me far more than the asking price to get it this far, but it would be nice to see it back on the road as oppsed to spend another year in the garage!
EDIT Price reduced to sell!!....its getting near the point m gonna end up breaking this car to sell which its far to good for! if i break it i know i could probably get double my asking price however i think it would be a shame to put more time in to taking it apart after ive spent ages putting it together!
NO OFFERS - its worth more than what im asking! arrive with a grand and a trailer = take away the car with all spares and the V5 in your name :-)
