Beautiful Rolls-Royce 20HP Landaulette For Sale (1929) edit C109104 | | | This lovely Rolls-Royce 20hp landaulette was first registered on 18th April 1929, 8 months after the chassis left the Derby factory in late August 1928, destined for Hoopers, to have the body added for Sir John Bruhner of London. Unfortunately he died before it was completed, so it was not sold and registered until the following April when it was purchased by a Mr Richard Winkler of Edinburgh. He kept the car until 1938 during which time it was chauffeur driven, often taking out the children of the family who named the car 'Baps'. Letters from one of those children to a previous owner explains how it came to be given this name; these letters are enclosed with the paperwork file for the car. The name 'Baps' is attached to the number plates.
The car is in excellent condition and is sold with copies of the Rolls-Royce build sheets and records of much of the work carried out on the car over the years.
The car is finished in Old English White with black wings, roof and hood. Internally the upholstery is in dark red Beford cord, and the roof is lined in pale grey. The car has two occasional seats to make up the 6 seats. There is a division separating the driver from the passengers if they require privacy.
The car is from my private collection of Rolls-Royces and has been used for weddings where it has proved a very popular choice. For someone who wishes to go into the wedding business this is an ideal car. There is also another one which may be for sale as well to make a pair. Having said that, I am only selling them because I have retired; during my ownership the car has also given me and my wife many hours of pleasure on social runs, holidays etc., and there is no reason why a new owner should not have as much pleasure without doing weddings if they don't want to.
Currently, due to me having a fall earlier this year which caused serious injuries, the car is not tested but on sale there will be a full years MOT.
