This is an absolutely beautiful one-of-a-kind collectable Datsun. The convertible modification was performed by one of Jay Leno’s (chat show host) professional restoration guys in Los Angeles about 10 years ago. It has a removable hard top, professionally done with mo-hair. This vehicle was never made in a convertible. The conversion was done perfectly. A lot of work went into this Datsun to make it such a strong build. The rear glass hatch is now a standard boot. The odometer reads 62,000. The chassis frame and floorboards are absolutely solid, the undercarriage is very strong and reinforced with 2 steel ‘I’ beams from front to back. This car is solid through and through. A perfect conversion build. I have had this car valued by a professional Datsun insurance assessor, and it blew him away. His exact words to me were “it's like it came out the factory like it”. This is no Mickey Mouse car, it is a collectors dream. I would hate to estimate the amount of time and effort put into this vehicle. The valuer strongly assured me he has never seen any Datsun's like this 240 Z. The lines on this Datsun are perfection!
The Datsun has no rust what-so-ever. The tyres, fuel pump, brakes, and clutch are new within the last year. 3,000 pounds in heads, gaskets, starter, plugs, wires, tune up just months ago - all work done in USA. This car hums nicely and shines like a beauty! It drives like a dream, and is a VERY sought after collectable vehicle. I am selling because I simply don’t have the time to enjoy this treasure.
The hard top is secured in 4 places, and has rear windows. The doors and the boot fit tight. The boot is all metal, all galvanized. There is a strengthen beam in the boot. The car has a metal tailgate also. This car really does have no faults. It's mechanically sound, strong, clean, starts on the button, and drives so smooth with the 6 cylinder engine it will amaze you. The car is a manual. It has a black interior with cloth and vinyl doors.
Only serious buyers with cash need enquire - this car is NOT a 10,000 pound car. I have had collectable vehicles all my life, from GT Mustangs to Chevy's, Dodge's, Corvettes, etc – The list goes on! I must state – This is the rarest car I have ever owned. I have known and worked with cars including classic cars all my life, so please do your homework! Anyone who knows their 240's will know that this beauty is a one-off! A truly unique collectable!
