VW bay window camper SOLD (1979) | | | 1979. Dormobile conversion 4 berth pop top. Interior is good useable condition,sink, cooker (under front passenger seat),walk through model with bunks and double bed back seat including folding table and seat. Tow bar and elec. hook up included. Been dry stored for last 7 years, owned for last 9 years. Laurie Pettite built 1679cc twin webber engine for motorway cruising, needs new alternator, less than 3000 miles on engine, cost £800+. The van also has the benefit of servo disc breakes as standard at the front, recent new calliper.
Welding- The van has had both rear corners replaced and needs outriggers and jack points replaced on both sides,sills on both sides and wheel arch repairs. the van is complete and comes with rhs sill repair panels and some outrigger replacement panels. There are more small areas of rust but these are the main jobs needed.
It would make a great project and bearing in mind restored prices (around 6K+)could be money and time well spent. I have not had the time to do the restoration work and need the space cleared for a timber workshop. more pictures available on request. some history. V5 documents.
