Aston Martin DB6 MK1 Vantage Specification Manual 5-Speed Car in Ambassador dark blue metallic. This car has just been completely restored mechanically and any other areas that required attention of any kind. All work has been carried out by a well known and meticulous Aston Martin specialist. The refurbishment list is endless and I will endeavor to go through some of the details here. I have a photograph album containing some 40+ photos showing the complete, no expense spared (I assure you!) refurbishment with all detailed bills showing all parts used and prices for time and labour. To give a brief outline of some of the work carried out - Full and complete engine bay strip down to bare metal and assembled with full detailing to engine bay with practically new everything. Any original parts that were re-used have been powder coated or completely refurbished. NEW engine block and rebuilt to unleaded specification with engine capacity increased to 4.2 Litre. New Triple 45 Weber carburetors have also been fitted with new inlet manifold and new inlet camshaft. The engine has been fully gas-flowed and performs with surprising vigour and fantastic torque. The vehicle is accompanied with an independent Aston Martin Heritage Dealer Power and Torque Data Sheet which was carried out when the engine rebuild was completed and before it was re-fitted to the vehicle. Complete new and balanced clutch and clutch assembly and refurbishment of the manual 5-Speed ZF gearbox. Other sympathetic upgrades include aluminium radiator with electric fan, full Harvey Bailey Handling Kit with new springs and dampers to the front and fully refurbished Selectaride dampers with new springs to the rear, plus all suspension bushes and all other suspension parts refurbished, powder coated, renewed and replaced where appropriate. It’s appearance benefits by the more purposeful new 6-1/2 inch dished Cobra style chrome wire wheels with new spinners and is shod with Michelin XWX 205 tyres. The braking system is of the later more efficient type with twin servos.
New disks have been fitted to the front and rear with complete refurbishment to the braking system, hoses, pads and any other items that were appropriate. The vehicle has the very desirable factory fitted power steering, which again has been fully refurbished and overhauled. Front and rear bumpers have been re-chromed by the best in the business, all new badges fitted plus numerous other items replaced and refurbished including new rear light clusters, water pump, oil pump, fuel pump, oil cooler, glass washer bottle, the list really is endless.....it even has a new tool roll with all correct period items. Original blue leather interior showing good patina rather than wear and complimented with blue Wilton carpets. Correct period Radiomobile radio with professional FM conversion by well known specialists.
Please do not confuse this car with other non-sorted or partially restored DB6's currently on the market. Mechanically it is like new and the complete underside including wheel arches have been taken down to the bare metal and re-painted with correct and original factory paint treatments and finally finished in black underseal and or Stonechip, where appropriate. The car has covered approximately 400 miles since it's restoration was complete in April 2008. The underside of the car has also been fully restored and detailed the same standard as the engine bay. This really is a fantastic DB6 and is a turn the key and enjoy proposition.
The chassis is corrosion free with new underseal, the steel sills and even the radius arms areas have been waxoil injected. This DB6 should be an appreciating asset with no mechanical nightmares lurking under the skin, which as people in the know know is the achilles heel of any DB series Aston
It is ready to use and would be perfect for that European tour offering effortless high speed cruising, good head and legroom for front passengers and comfortable rear accommodation with ample leg and head room too, especially over it's more cramped DB4 and DB5 predecessors.
This is a private sale by the owner, I have all bills and receipts that promise to make very interesting and reassuring reading to the prospective DB6 buyer. This car is priced realistically based upon the £50k's worth and parts and labour spent on the vehicle during it's nine month restoration.
Further details are available upon request and viewing, as one would imagine, is most highly recommended.
