Jaguar XJR-S TWR 5.3 V12 1 previous owner! For Sale (1988) edit C116504 | | | I am selling our beloved Jaguar XJR-S, We have owned it for 14 years and it has just one previous owner who was our next door neighbour therefore we have known the car from new! The car has only done 110000 miles and has 10 months mot and tax left. The car has been maintained regardless of cost and has an extensive service history.
The XJR-S is a very rare car, only 300 of this model were ever produced, so not many can be left today, the XJR-S was built as a result of Jaguars success in the 1988 lemans 24hr race, The changes included lower up rated suspension, quicker steering and brakes to improve handling and stopping power, Speed line wheels, TWR fibreglass body kit and spoiler tor reduce drag and improve aero dynamics. Also body hugging leather seats improve it grand touring capabilities.
The car boasts a very high spec, heated seats, electric bolsters, air conditioning, cruise control, power steering, electric windows, leather seats, Sony stereo with 6 CD changer in the boot, Cobra immobiliser and a trip computer which displays mpg, average speed temperature etc.
The car has Jaguars super smooth and powerful V12 Engine and automatic gearbox.
Recent work includes new brake pads all round and new front callipers. Also in the last few years it has had new headlights, and manifold
The car has a very good body for its age but does have some minor imperfections, mainly a bit of rust bubbling on one of the wings (about 50p size) and some lacer peel on the roof (about 2cm) The car has had much bodywork done over the years to keep it looking fresh, most recently the bonnet was painted and repaired after jaguar damaged it while working on the car to convert the air con to run on modern gas.
We are selling the car as it does need some TLC, it could do with the rust sorting out and a full re spray to return it to its former glory, also it could do with a good service, also it could do with the piping on the drivers seat re trimming and floor mats replacing as the edges are slowly coming away.
The price is £4500ovno, if it does not sell I will be doing the work and putting the car into storage as it’s a rare classic and will only be going up in value if looked after, I don’t think I have ever seen another genuine one of these on the road, so how many examples with this sort of history will be left?
