The XJSC was only produced between 1985 to 1988 making it the most sought after model within the legendary XJS range. It benefits from the stability of a hard top structure for handling capability combined with the versatility and improved aesthetics of a soft top vehicle.
The 1985 XJS Cabriolet is powered by the improved High Efficiency (HE) 5.3 litre V12 engine renowned for its smooth delivery and incredible power output whilst maintaining the ability to comfortably return over 20mpg on combined driving conditions utilising the equally smooth automatic gearbox.
This particular example of the XJSC has been under the ownership of Jaguar enthusiasts for the vast majority of its life. The aesthetics of this XJSC have been improved with the introduction of Jaguar styling additions in the form of US inspired quadlamp headlights and chrome wheel arch cappings. The cappings compliment the original chromework on the front and rear bumpers, wing mirrors and chrome leaping cat on the bonnet.
The in car entertainment has been brought into the 21st century with the fitting of an MP3 CD player with concealed installation of an IPOD connectivity cable in the leather armrest. This addition compliments the luxurious nature of the leather interior which boasts electric windows and mirrors, climate control, cruise control and power steering. The original starfish alloy wheels are in very good condition and benefit from excellent tyres all round. The vehicle has a thatcham recognised full alarm system.
The paintwork on this XJSC is virtually unmarked and retains a showroom level of shine. The structural condition of the car has been ensured by lifelong waxoiling of the entire floorpan both inside and outside the vehicle. Furthermore, during my ownership, the car has only been driven in dry driving conditions. Consequently, the common XJS underside weak spots such as the subframe and rear suspension mounting points, are all in extremely good condition on this vehicle.
This XJSC comes with substantial documentation to demonstrate the genuine low mileage of 55,000 miles, including stamped service book detailing FSH and many receipts for maintenance and service work carried out on the car. The most recent service carried out on the vehicle included replacement of all drivebelts, renewing of front ball joints and replacement rear brake pads. The car is registered as HPI clear having never been involved in an accident and with no outstanding finance owing on the vehicle.
