1958 Elva Formula Junior
The regulations for Formula Junior allowed the use of a production based motor up to 1100cc in capacity. Most early Formula Juniors were Italian using Fiat 1100cc engines, at this point Elva decided to enter the class with their first single seat car. Elva adopted BMC engines, which were mounted far back within the tubular frame. The open wheel bodywork was made out of fibreglass and the overall design shared many elements with the Elva Mk V sports car.
This Elva, chassis A200L110-684, has a long racing history in the United States. The car has been restored retaining its originality. The 998cc BMC race motor is fresh and is running on twin 1.5 inch SU carbs, which have retained the original Rytune intake manifolds as well as the Rytune velocity stacks. The car has also held onto its rare Elva 15 inch magnesium racing wheels as well as its original steering wheel.
The car comes complete with its VSCCA logbook and will be supplied with FIA HTP papers.
