Volvo P1800 E Turquoise For Sale (1971) edit C118415 | | | STUNNING VOLVO P1800
This beautiful car is reluctantly being sold for lifestyle reasons. As you can see from the pictures, this car - in its original colour - is absolutely gorgeous. The P1800 is a classic, as driven by Roger Moore in The Saint. I am not a dealer and it is with profound regret that I am having to sell. Colour is turquoise/ blue.
As it is an historic vehicle, road tax is free. MOT and current tax disc are valid until spring 2010.
Since I acquired it in 2006, I have had the engine extracted, taken apart and totally rebuilt with all worn parts replaced. Engine is as good as new.
Its electrics have also been modified, and it has a new alternator. I have also put on new Firestone tyres. The sills were fitted a few years before I bought it. It has a powerful 2.0L injection model engine, with an overdrive 'turbo' lever.
In the three years I have owned this car it has been my pride and joy. The shape is sublime - the fins are a real head-turner. It is a classic in every way.
The interior is presentable with perhaps the usual wear and tear one would expect of a car this age (38 years old!). The front seats are quite worn. The dashboard and carpets are in good condition but obviously not perfect. One or two of the dials on the dashboard are temperamental (**specifically, the speedometer and the petrol guage - the former does not work and the latter can stick. This is not a problem re MOTs**). The stereo does not work brilliantly.
The car is not a concourse example. Due to its age I have had to do a fair amount of work on it, and this will also be the case under a new owner. On close inspection there are small signs of previous restoration and very small (barely noticable) spots of rust.
If you are a purist looking for a £15,000 show-stopper then this car is not for you. However it looks amazing and runs like a dream. I repeat - the car is not perfect and has the odd flaw. It is almost four decades old. Buyers must acknowledge that fact.
