First hand from 1956 to 2008 !

During the month of April 1956,Mr. Santo Sbriglio, of Hartford, Connecticut, and his daughter Annette, who was 30 years old at the time, drove to Taber Cadillac in his 1939 four-door LaSalle to look at new cars. When they arrived at the Cadillac dealership, there was a beautiful black and white Sedan Deville, which was a new model in 1956, parked on the showroom floor.
They fell in love with the car and Annette convinced her dad to purchase the car with a sticker price of $4,698. The Sedan Deville had the new 365 cubic inch engine, which
had 285 HP, and was equipped with Cadillac’s new Hydra-Matic transmission, which reportedly cost Cadillac over $35 million to develop and ready for production.
Santo, who was a Barber and worked six days a week, took delivery of the car on April 23, 1956. Because this car was so very special to him, he decided not to trade in his 1939 LaSalle and kept using it as his everyday car. For the next 23 years, Santo only drove the Sedan Deville on Sundays, as long as it was sunny, to church, the beach and family gatherings for a total of 29,889 miles. In 1979, he unfortunately passed away. On January 30, 1980, Annette’s mom gave her the car. At that time, she was 53 years old and married to Sebby Matarazzo. They drove it from her parent’s house to their house. For the next 28 years, it was parked in the garage up on blocks with Sebby starting it every month. By this time(2008), Annette was almost 82 years old and she and her husband felt it was time to sell the car.They wanted to find someone who would take care of the car that she had picked out with her dad back in 1956.
The special features on this car include a power-operated trunk, power antenna and windows, power seats, pillar-less windows and autronic eye, which automatically dims the high beam lights when an oncoming car is approaching. The gas filler cap is located behind the driver’s side rear tail light and the exhaust tips go thru the rear bumper.
The car currently has 31,290 miles and runs and drives like brand new, truly a great riding car.
New brakes and wide white wall tires were installed last year, and a lot of engine-related work was completed including tuning-up the V-8, painting and detailing the engine compartment, replacing the valve cover gaskets, rebuilding the generator, installing new hoses and recoring the radiator.
At this time, I am considering selling this fine automobile. I would like to find an owner that will take care of it and cherish it as much as Santo and Annette did.
