Mini 1000 Mk2 Super De Luxe For Sale (1968) edit C119701 | | | Almond Green Morris Mini 1000 for sale, with white roof and red vinyl interior.
This car has had a great deal of money spent on it, and I have receipts totalling in excess of £7000 of restoration work and parts. I bought the car in 2005 and have only been able to use it occasionally to go to shows or at weekends. I took it on the London to Brighton mini run in 2007 and it performed faultlessly.
It is a beautiful car that always gets lots of attention, and is great fun to drive. The car has several period style modifications, including a stage one exhaust, with new manifold and air filter, and a set of 6x10" GB alloy wheels with Yokohama A032R tyres. Needless to say, these are all reversible modifications, as I was keen to preserve the originality of the car, (the original steel wheels and chrome hubcaps are included in the sale).
The interior has been treated to new trim panels and carpet to original spec. from Newton Commercial, who continue to manufacture the original parts to factory standard.
The car was featured as 'Star Car' in the readers rides section of Mini Magazine last year, and won first prize in its class in a small concours competition at Fakenham mini show in 2007.
Unfortunately, the Mini does need some work for its MOT, and will require a new boot floor, as the current one has rusted through. The brakes will also need to be stripped, cleaned and adjusted, because the car has not been used in a while.
In addition, some parts of the bodywork could do with some attention, there is bubbling around the headlights, on the A-panels and along the scuttle seam. These are all usual Mini traits, and do not affect the MOT, but will eventually need tidying to bring the car up to top condition.
Apart from these faults, this is a beautiful little car that runs and drives well, and needs a new owner who can afford it the time and care it deserves.
