MGA Roadster LHD, in Concours Condition SOLD (1957) | | | Not for sale - it has been sold via a Car and Classic Free Ad | I have decided to sell my beautiful 1957 MGA Roadster to make way for a new project.
Restoration of the car was commissioned by a Pebble Beach judge around three years ago and since then minimal use has been made. In bright red, with a new light tan interior, leather seats, and matching hood and carpets, the car is still in concours condition and gives the appearance that it has never been used. It is equipped with new, alloy, sliding side screens.
The body was removed and bare metal re-sprayed, with all panels painted separately. The chassis was completely stripped and rebuilt with all new, or totally restored, components. To improve the performance the engine was uprated to 1800cc, with an uprated radiator and new heater assembly. All pipework and the wiring loom were renewed, as were the petrol tank and pump. New brake pipes and exhaust system were fitted.
The engine bay is highly detailed with all electrical accessories renewed. Every rubber in the car has been replaced with the correct items. All chromework has either been replated or replaced with new. The car has never been used in the rain and has done minimal mileage since its total restoration. Four new chrome wire wheels have been fitted and four brand new tyres have just been fitted to the car, together with two, new, 6 volt batteries.
After three years everything is period correct, the engine sounds very sweet, and the car is an absolute joy to own and drive.
