Stunning Classic 450 SLC Auto, only 108,683 SOLD (1979) C121688 | | | Not for sale - it has been sold via a Car and Classic Free Ad | | I recently bought this stunningly beautiful car as a present for my wife, as she (the Merc that is) is the best looking 30 year-old I have seen in a very, very long time.
She was always kept in a garage by original lady owner (August 1979 until January 2008) who drove just over 108,000 of the miles, hence gleaming unmarked chrome work and immaculate original condition. Bought by the next owner as a weekend indulgence, due to illness he was only able to add 23 miles last year, but didn’t baulk at spending £1,045 on her. To ensure we enjoyed her at her best I have had her valeted and serviced in the last month.
Immaculate bodywork with an unblemished Brazil Velour interior, burred walnut trim with the most gloriously deep throaty roar ever made by a 4.5 litre V8 announcing her presence wherever she goes. As you may appreciate, this is a car, which needs and wants to be loved, showed off and when & where appropriate allowed to soar past the speed limit, which it does in an effortless glide.
Unfortunately it is the ‘Car of MY Dreams’ & not my wife’s! As I no longer drive, seeing her parked on the drive & described as “Very fast and very nice, but not very practical” is just too much, hence the reason for selling! The asking price reflects the cost to me, and whilst I want her to go to an appropriate home please don’t waste either of our time with silly offers as I really don’t want (or need) to sell her!
