Mercedes E220 Coupe SOLD (1996) C122184 | | | Not for sale - it has been sold via a Car and Classic Free Ad | | This fine example of the marque stands in stunning metallic Ruby Red, along with colour-coded bumpers and side skirting and contrasting mushroom leather trim. Both bodywork and interior are exceptional with very little to detract from the day it rolled out of the factory. The alloy wheels are unmarked and its ride is extremely firm and tight, which is testament to the care and attention this vehicle has received during its lifetime.
History
This extremely cherished coupe was one of the last real Mercedes to role of the production line in Stuttgart. Registered in the UK in August 96, it was owned for 10 years by the lady who had her initials displayed on the cherished licence plate (JCM).
The second owner of the vehicle was a gentleman from Cheshire, who passed it on to a friend within the space of a month (unfortunately he registered himself as a keeper). The friend (a former producer of Top Gear, during Jeremys first stint) kept it for about a year, using it only at weekends, before selling onto myself due to a possible property sale. I have lovingly kept it for the last two years. The car has been treated very well in those thirteen years and I have every service/maintenance invoice and MOT to demonstrate the extent of this care.
All the significant milestone maintenance has been performed during its lifetime, as well as additional requirements such as the head gasket replacement at around 85,000 miles.
The vehicle is currently taxed until January 2010 and has 10 months remaining on its MOT. The tyres have been replaced this year and its last service has recently been completed (see below). All service documents are as expected and I have both main keys and the often misplaced/lost auxiliary key.
