Mint Condition! Standard Big 9 SOLD (1932) | | | Not for sale - it has been sold via a Car and Classic Free Ad | This is a stunning example of a 1932 Standard Big 9, in black, tastefully restored in the 1990s by Mr Tom Wardle of Manchester, who left no stone unturned in achieving near original finish. I mean it when I say it would not take much to make this a concours example, the car is trimmed in red leather throughout, Red Wilton carpets and West of England headcloth, all in excellent condition. Complete with the full length period sliding sunroof (Which doesnt leak)
The car is a 4 speed crash gearbox model, with all the period features. Drives exceptionally well as a 1930s saloon should, the car is fitted with retro fit modern indicators for driving in todays traffic.
The car will come with a great deal of spares mostly new original parts still in manufacturers wrappers, as well as a large collection of harvested parts collected by the previous owner over many years.
There are also two spare engines, the condition of which is unknown but anything is possible these days. Track rods, brake shoes, big end bearings, oil seals etc,etc,etc. I have owned this car about 8 years now and the only things I have had to change are points, condenser, wiper blade?
There is a full photograpic record of the detail on the restoration as well as there being a full known history, traced back to the original owner in 1932, this is complemented by a photograph of the Grandson of that owner who still lives in the same house! Parts and owners manuals are also supplied. Too much to list!
