Armstrong Siddeley 17 'Sports Foursome' Coupe SOLD (1935) | | | Not for sale - it has been sold via a Car and Classic Free Ad | A chance to acquire a fully restored and very handsome 'Sports Foursome'one of the last models to be designed and built under the tenure of the founder, Sir John Siddeley.
With its 2.4 litre 6-cylinder overhead valve engine, Wilson pre-selector gearbox, Bendix self-servo brakes, and in-built jacks it lives up to the Company claim 'A car of Aircraft Quality'.
The car was exported new top dry South Africa and returned in corrosion free condition to England in 2002 for a complete strip down, bare metal respray and rebuild.
Extensive mechanical and electrical work carried out regardless of cost including rebuild of the pre-selector gearbox by a leading specialist.
First Prize class winner at the 2008 Chatsworth Country Fair
Exhibited at the 2007 Classic Car Show at the NEC.
Featured in the Automobile February 2009 and in Classic & Sports Car, August 2007.
