Corvette ZR1 5.7 LT5 Engine SOLD (1990) | | | Not for sale - it has been sold via a Car and Classic Free Ad | I guess anyone bidding for this car will know the history of the marque but here is some.
This is a beautiful example of the legendary ZR1 Corvette,with the Lotus designed LT5 5.7 Litre Quad overhead cam 32 valve engine. This marque only recently lost the world record for 24 hours above 180mph.
Jeff Jeal, the Lotus development engineer, of whom it is said he tested all of the 1990 production cars, has done most of the servicing and work on this car over ths past 11 years. Jeff thinks the engine is now producing 430 hp.
She now has:
Corsa stainless exhaust, (no cats) Bilstein coil over shocks (2005) Movit 4 pot calipers and Discs, 16 new fuel injectors (2 per cylinder) Light weight Kevlar clutch. Short throw gear change.
4 new Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres (last year) Less than 1000 miles.
There are very few things which will make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up like the sound of this engine at 7200rpm.
Included is the Chevvy service manual, the software and connectors to access the engine management system and the original Dual Mass flywheel.
