This excellent MGA was supplied new to California in 1957 and subsequently repatriated to the UK in 1989 when a thorough and painstaking restoration was started.
This 10-year restoration included a total rebuild including the bodywork and a bare metal respray in two-pack Old English White paint. All bright work on the car was either replaced or fully re-chromed.
The interior was completely re-trimmed with beautiful red leather seats which contrast with the black carpets which are also in excellent condition.
Mechanically the car has undergone a complete nut and bolt restoration. The engine was stripped, refurbished and completely rebuilt. The car was also converted to RHD retaining the adjustable steering column. Since the restoration was completed, the car has flown through its MOTs without any advisory notices.
The chromed 72-spoke wire wheels look fantastic on the car and are in excellent condition along with very good radial tyres.
Immediately prior to our purchase in 2006, the owner fitted custom all-weather gear to the car. However, we only occasionally use the MG on sunny afternoons in and around our local area. The stainless exhaust is in very good condition and the 2x 6v batteries have recently been replaced.
This MGA is still in fantastic condition and is a must see for anyone interested in the marque.
