Owner purchased car in 1987 and was driven daily for over a decade. In 2004 the decision was made to restore the car and the next 3 years consisted of various stages of disassembly and restoration. The engine was removed to allow painting of the engine compartment and detailing of components under the hood.
The restoration consisted of the following:
New paint on body and hardtop
Complete interior restoration with Dark Brown Leather, Brown German Square Weave Carpet, Tan Headliner in Hardtop, Rust colored German Soft Top, refinished dash wood and console box, new windshield, refurbished gauges, and a complete new rubber package (door seals, trunk seal, etc.).
Exterior chrome was re-chromed or replaced on body and hardtop as needed.
The car has new European Headlights and the correct NOS Taillights (all red lenses).
New tires were also installed.
An aftermarket air conditioner, designed for the 113 series, was installed in 1987.
The car also has an after market radio with CD player.
- Since the completion of the restoration in 2007, the car has been driven less than 1,500 miles.
