73 sprint DHC yellow over white. I have had it for 23 years. But it now seems to do ~200 miles per MOT, but is kept in tip top mechanical condition (i'm a qualified engineer). Galvanized chassis, engine rebuilt at 60K by specialist "Twincam techniques", with VJ5 road cams (TT36 profile). Good DDuck Roof (10 years old but I never use it ! .. as kept in dry warm garage). Full ownership history, full detailed history approx last 30 years (fat folder). Negatives: the body was respayed about 25 years ago was Blue, and at same time had some fibre glass done on passenger sill area... is not perfect. So Paint / body OK - i'd say everyday usable but not concourse. Still very presentable hence no need for body work (unless v anal :-) ).... I am not one who insists on keeping to 1970's standards - I prefer using sensible (yet UNSEEN) upgrades. My aim has been to keep it as 'everyday usable' as possible. So it has VJ5 cams (gen 130BHP but still 100% driveable), recent alternator, (pic shows Dynamo - now in box of spares). replacement servo (lockhead: which is obtainable) , braided brake hoses, modern tyres (Rally R680, correct section), Koni rear shox, immobiliser, Luminition, 3 core rad. Toneau (water proof cover for interior. Box of spares.

Several people have asked for: VIN and type number which are 7210797G type 45, engine number N28015.
Build date October 1972, 1st registered March 1973. Certified by lotus.
No bodywork done from new (except Respray to yellow & minor work on Passenger sill .. before 1980 ).
No accidents.
Chassis IS a Genuine lotus Galvanised fitted c 1984 - other details as per description (yes it is a 'proper' car).

Zero road tax and £100 comprehensive, limited mileage insurance.

I am in East Berkshire (M4 J6).

I am looking for the best offer OVER £17,000 ukp. Happy to email answers/pix etc. But please know your car before arranging to see (I do not give test drives to see if you like elans nor tyre kicking sessions etc. :-) But show serious interest (and ability to pay) and any inspection is welcome (I have a pit in my garage).
