Metallic burgundy paint with full beige leather interior. 118,000 miles only.

Mine for 2 years (5000 miles covered) and (almost) always garaged. I bought the car from an ex-Jaguar main dealer mechanic (an AA mechanic at time of purchase) and he had owned the car for the previous 10 years covering only some 30,000 miles. He too garaged the car and used it only, as I do, on dry days. I believe he was well qualified to select an excellent XJS when he purchased the car and it has been well maintained since. This is a good car and an honest one.

Engine, transmission: All very good and driving as a Jaguar should. The exhaust is Stainless.
Bodywork: Very good and not at all rusty for this model. What rust there is can be seen and it’s minor. The worst bubble is at the base of the rear screen (please see image). Subframes front and rear are solid and wax-oiled.
Interior: Generally good but the headlining has become partially unstuck but this is apparently easily rectified. The air-conditioning is weak and must leak as I had it re-charged and the benefit was very short lived.

It passed its MOT in February 2010.

I paid £3100 for the car and have spent about £1500 on servicing (mainly on anti-roll bar link replacement and suspension bushes all round). I’m asking £2750.

Please view, as this is a good car and much better looking than the face-lifted version. If you want to know why I’m selling, I sold my 1977 Alfa Spider to buy this to accommodate my wife and then 2 year old daughter. I’m afraid the child doesn’t like it as the rear windows are fixed and even though she’s only 4 now it’s just too much of a pain as there really is no room in the back. If you’re looking for a family classic, I wouldn’t recommend an XJS.
