when is a jaguar not a jaguar? the answer is not only simple but beautiful too...when its a daimler of course! the luxury sub brand of the world famous british car maker is about opulence, exclusivity and sheer class. autoemotional are very proud to present what must be one of the best examples of the much sought after super saloon that is the daimler double 6 series iii.
the model is synonymous with a wall of power from that 5.3 litre v12 and superb built quality and this very car is an amazing tribute to one of the best models from the entire daimler range. presented in a light mulberry-esk metallic the car looks stunning from every angle. the paintwork is blemish free and shines as though it has just rolled off the production line at coventry today! the front grill catches the eye first with its multi slated vents crested with the trademark 'd' that stands proud. the headlights, like all the glass in the car is crack and chip free and has the factory fitted wash system too. additionally the car has front lower spot lights. the bright work on the front bumper, the wing mirrors and on the rear bumper is just mint and has a deep lustre that is more like looking into a mirror than staring at car parts!
from the side the double six's silhouette is just timeless. swooping lines mimicking the subtle power bulges on the front bonnet can be seen around the body. the car sits aloft on the original factory wheels all in excellent colour coded condition wrapped in excellent rubber all round. the cars coach lines are highlighted more so with the chrome strips that runs the length of the car body and accentuates its opulent character. the rear of the car too makes a statement. the two fuel filler caps sit either side of the boot and in themselves are works of art, more than just functional in their being. the boot is more than large for a car of this size with not only ample room but with the original carpeting, spare wheel and tools in their bag and again is yet another reason why this car stands head and shoulders above any other example of this v12 motor car.
the two chrome exhaust tips jut out proud and sit below the bright work on the wrap around bumper with boot lock housed in chrome work similar to the front grill which marries up the two ends of the car beautifully. the daimler badge on the rear rests on a par to the double six motif and the front wings carry the 'd' too signifying this cars notch above any other it passes.
if you though the exterior of the car was something to marvel at, the interior will simply leave you speechless... the cream leather interior that covers the entire cabin is only matched in its jaw dropping ability as the wood, chrome & ancillaries that garnish the inside. the seats feel firm and comfortable and always seem to give the impression that you were the first person to grace them. the cars spec for its age is fantastic with all four windows being electric and operated from either the front or from the rear. the wing mirrors too are electric and are controlled by the most fantastic stalks that are jus beautifully crafted!
the door cards carry wood, chrome and matching leather as well as pockets and bevelled speaker rings that allow for the audio from the fully operational and original factory fitted 'clarion' stereo system to come through loud and clear. the dash board in its deep mahogany houses all the pods and gauges that give accurate read outs and all operate without fault. the car starts on the buttons and in the most sublime of manners. the engine simply breathes power, 260 brake horse to be precise and it shows!
this leather clad cabin whisks driver and passengers alike with a surge of power like no other vehicle can. the luxury that coverts any mile that is undertaken in this car make for wonderful motoring regardless of the destination.
while on your travels guiding the car with its powers steering you can opt to utilise the flawless silky smooth automatic gearbox or tap the cruise control to stretch your legs into the daimler mats. just wonderful! the free revving engine is a work of art. the bonnet when raised shows an engine bay that autoemotional thinks is clean enough to eat your 'ritz' sandwiches off and needless to say takes no water or oil.
the cars trip computer works without fault and goes through key data at the press of a button including time, range and mpg to name but a few. additionally the information can be converted into miles or kilometres to make any trip to the continent or beyond applicable. when you do come across that summer sun, your comfort shall not be spoilt in this carriage with the daimler breathing ice cold air conditioning from the factory fitted system! the details like the passenger lights, rear arm rest, vent system and grab handles all add those details that makes this car so very special. even the cars hinges within the doors, boot and bonnet look showroom clean.
the vehicle really is a credit to daimler and to its owner, which in this case is of the title variety. that goes some way to explaining the condition and its super low mileage of just 51k. the vehicle has an incredible service history which is as follows:
