Complete restoration completed Sept. '09 on this '71
mustang fastback (sportsroof). Originally a 351 cleveland
4V engine with c-6 auto 3 speed transmission and staggered rear shocks. I have made this into a dual tribute car.
It is a 429 CJ mach 1 re-creation and also a copy of the
Mach 1 used in the '71 James Bond film "Diamonds are Forever".
The 429 4v engine is a '72 Thunderjet engine now equipped with the larger valved "police interceptor" heads and a
429 CJ profile cam. Its mated to a C-6 Cruise-a-matic 3
speed transmission and taller 3.00:1 9" rear axle for better
high speed cruising. At nearly 500lb/ft of torque the rate
of acceleration is very brisk and the professinal engine
rebuilders estimate about 400 bhp.
This car came with the desirable sport deck rear seat option (folds down )and has an original space saver tyre
and entire jack assembly.
The interior is black with red accents (movie car had red with black accents) and the original am radio works perfectly as do all the original gauges.
The car also has the original ram air hood with the chrome
twistlock pins.
The wheels are the original 14 X 6 steel rims with the
hub caps/beauty rings and are shod with F70 (p 215)
Whitewall Firestone tyres just like the movie car.
This auto comes with a Marti Report.
The cost of shipping from Western Canada (Alberta) to
the U.K. is about $ 5000 Cdn. I am able to fly to the
U.K. to meet with interested parties on fairly short notice.
sincerely
