Opel Monza GSE manual SOLD (1986) | | | Not for sale - it has been sold via a Car and Classic Free Ad | Since becoming a long-term Opel Monza Club Technical Advisor in 1991, the Owner has maintained this car with the intention of keeping it as original-to-type as possible and this well known car car has won many Club trophies in this period.
It has now covered 133,000 miles although the condition does not reflect this as all necessary repairs have been done promptly and properly.
Front inner and outer wings and bracing, front and rear panels and both quarter panels have been replaced professionally and the vehicle completely re-sprayed in the original Carnelian Red colour with all glass and trim removed. Significant rust proofing was carried out at the same time and the panels have stood the test of time well.
The engine has only had a small amount of work, including replacement timing chain components and crankshaft bearings. The gearbox has been replaced by a 60000 mile example. The upholstery is unmarked and the wheels have been re-furbished to the original specification.
Everything works as it should and the car drives exceptionally well. There are not many cars like this left in a useable and presentable condition
Overall the vehicle is now in much better condition than a typical, un-restored example.
