I have owned this Monza for over 16 years and it has been out in the rain just once in that time, having covered only 25,000 miles in total. This car is probably the earliest, certainly the best in the country and believed to be the only one registered in 1978 left. It is a well known multiple prize winner and last year won "Best Original Car" at a German car show as well as second place at the brilliant Hinckley Classic Show
With no rot in the usual places (sills, inner wings etc.) the car is essentially rust free and waxoled with no imminent repairs necessary. Very minor paint pitting is evident on the tailgate and the front valance is slightly stone-chipped. Only one minor body repair (parking knock to lower left-rear quarter)and some cosmetic paintwork has been carried out and this car has been kept in everyday, usable condition by the owner who has owned and maintained Monza's and other Opels since 1976. The tyres have covered about 5000 miles and everything works as it should.
The interior is unmarked and not faded, the car having been kept indoors for most of its life.
The car has been maintained in its original/un-restored condition, including the factory fitted radio cassette and tinted windscreen mounted aerial.
This is a proper "Time warp" car, and these cars were always rare. they are VERY rare now - when did you last see one? I was recently at the biggest classic car show in Essen, Germany and there was not a single Monza there although everyone I spoke to raved about them. It is therefore, not one to miss and it is ready to use on the road or just show with minimal fuss and low long term maintenance needs. Everything works as the maker intended and the car will have a new MOT and service at time of sale. A video is available, taken this year (2014) for those who cannot easily travel to see the car.
