Diesel Tax Exempt FG Camper for restoration SOLD (1972) | | | Not for sale - it has been sold via a Car and Classic Free Ad | This will make a beautiful camper van for someone who has the time. There were hundreds built so it's still possible to find parts.
Originally built as a telecoms or railways work lorry, converted to a campervan in the 80's. 20ft long, probably weighs 4 tons as it is. It had a good recon 498 diesel fitted a few thousand miles ago. Restoration needed extends to floorpan welding, rewiring, brake servicing, drilling off and replacing sheet steel sides (rivetted on - not hard), refitting glass, sourcing tyres and repainting. Interior would want work to bring it to a similar standard.
All glass (plus spares inc windsreen) is present.

It is tax and LEZ exempt. The engine is good. It's worth doing.
