Saab 900 Classic 69,000 miles,rust free,s/h SOLD (1987) | | | Not for sale - it has been sold via a Car and Classic Free Ad | I am selling my 1987 Saab 900 Classic only as I've bought another car.It is extremely rust free on all the panels and underneath inc all the floors and sills and inner wheel arches.This is mainly due to it having been rust proofed earlier in its life and being garaged.
It has 69,560 genuine miles on the clock with a very good service history(can trace every owner through it).Interesting history,it was owned by a Saab Owners Club member and more recently by Lex Shrapnell who was in the recent TV series 'Minder'.I bought it off him when he was working for the Royal Shakespeare Company here in Stratford upon Avon.
It is mot'd until October and is insured.It has a 2.0 litre 8 valve engine.I gave this a comprehensive top end rebuild last year after the head gasket went.It has a silky smooth auto gearbox.Interior is virtually unmarked.The head lining is sagging but not a big deal as the sunroof holds most of it up in place,just needs pinning back abit.Also has four matching Pirelli P6000 tyres with the original stainless steel hubcaps.The exhaust is fairly new as well.
As mentioned earlier this car is very solid especially underneath.Don't think its been welded anywhere mainly due to the rustproofing being well done in the first place.It has lovely thick original paintwork.Would like to see the car sell to a saab enthusiast.Belsyre Garage in Oxford sold this car a few years ago to a previous owner for £2000(receipt in the history).A friend who writes for Classic car magazines told me that they had/have a very good reputation for selling really excellent examples of Saabs,which this is.Any questions,just ask.
