Chevrolet BelAir V8 sedan For Sale (1960) | | |
| Imported by me a while back, this 1960 BelAir 4 door sedan has been fitted with a 350 cu in V8 with a 4 barrel Holley, a TH400 auto transmission and a '63 Impala rear axle for better gearing. It has power steering fitted too, and a set of chrome smoothie wheels, and sounds and drives fine.
It has not been checked for MOT as yet (I've had too much going on in my life recently and am selling all my collection) but hopefully shouldn't need too much doing apart from a general check over/maintenance and fix the handbrake, as well as some localised welding to floor pans. When you get it MOTd, you will be able to register it as the first UK owner on the V5, as I have the American title and C386 customs document proving that all duties have ben paid and the car is legally imported and eligible for UK reg.
Paint is poor and headcloth has a section missing, so budget on a headcloth, carpet and a repaint anyway. Should be worth 10 - 12K when done and I'm selling at less than it owes me. You cannot import one for this price and the Americans are hanging on to them now anyway. But do note that the paint does look better in the pics than it does in the flesh.
It has been used in the filming of Cloud Atlas with Halle Berry and Hugo Weaving. If you Google Image for Cloud Atlas, most of the pics of Halle show this car behind her.
UK mainland delivery is included in the asking price, but not if a lower offer is made.
