Porsche 996 C4 Cabriolet, 66,000 miles, full service history For Sale (2000)
Time has dimmed the significance of the 996 for Porsche. It was the first entirely new 911 variant since the birth of the car in the 1960’s. Not only was this redesign essential to meet the latest demands from the driving enthusiast, but also to meet new safety and emissions regulations.
However what was crucial, was that the 996 had to be a success to save Porsche as an independent car maker after a torrid time in the early 90’s.
Well fortunately for Porsche enthusiasts around the world, a success it was. An entirely new body shell surrounded new underpinnings, drivetrain, suspension and an entirely new interior which finally gave the comfort and ergonomics a car of this calibre surely required. Of course what was most significant to the Porsche fan was the introduction of the new water cooled engine, which gave the performance and refinement needed at the turn of the century.
This super Zenith Blue manual 996 C4 Convertible has only covered 66,000 miles and was bought by a long standing customer of ours to share with his wife. During the course of their ownership they have only covered 10,000 miles.
First registered in March 2000, the car was well specified with full grey leather, and a matching hardtop.
Well maintained by the four previous owners with a full main dealer and specialist service history, we will supply the car with a fresh annual maintenance service, refurbished alloy wheels, new hood (there is a small tear to the rear screen), new MOT and a thorough pdi.
