Originally from Louisiana, USA. The car was off the road and out of service after engine failure in Louisana in 1974 until it was imported to the UK in January 1995 requiring complete overhaul carried out over the intervening years until first UK registered in March 2012.
The car has been repaired/welded with very minor floor repairs, new sills, extra thick 2mm inner sills, new front and rear valances, new metal seam welded repairs to front bulkheads/battery tray area provision has been made to easily convert from left hand drive to right hand drive, all weld in brackets are present.
The car is a loose copy of a ‘works’ rally car, painted in Powder Blue with wing vents in the front wings, surrey top and one or two other little extras as detailed below.
The car has been built with mild/classic rallying/road tours/Monte Challenges in mind.
Front and rear suspension is rebuilt, all new bushes/new front trunnions/wheel bearings/joints, etc.

Currently fitted are a pair of right hand drive halogen headlamps and new relays
1 x speed wiper motor
Twin washer jets and electric washer pump
Servo and piping
Has a rebuilt (unknown to what spec – assume standard – TR Workshops of Gloucestershire engine from a TR4a. In addition we fitted a rear oil seal conversion, reground crankshaft with new ends, mains, oil pump repair kit, gaskets, seals.
Hi-torque starter motor.
‘Revington’ small V’ belt conversion fitted together with a small V alternator/new water pump and crank pulley. Powdercoated water pump housing and new stainless steel water transfer pipe fitted, powder coated silver thermostat housing, new thermostat and all bolts and gaskets.
It has a standard distributor
Carburettors are CD 175 Strombergs on a powdercoated silver inlet manifold
Spin on/off oil filter adaptor
Oil pressure guage and pipe fitted
Standard mechanical fuel pump
Has a 4 into 1 full sports exhaust system in stainless steel, specially made to fit without fouling the chassis and floors
Horns and mounting bracket
Has 2 x 4 fuse type fuse boxes for extras
Has a remote push button starter solenoid on wheel arch
Clutch master cylinder
Sprint Clutch slave cylinder
Inhibitor switches are fitted to the gearbox to provide overdrive on 2nd as well as 3rd and 4th gears.
Gearbox is a rebuilt J type TR gearbox, with new clutch, Sprint cross shaft, heavy duty taper pin – double pinned via rolls pins, brass release bearing carrier with slippers for smoother yet harder wearing action/movement.
Steering is by rack and pinion, a new ‘quick rack’, all new mounts, bushes, powdercoated steering column cowl, secondhand sports steering wheel (leather rim, alloy spokes with holes).
Has a donor Davies Craig Australian secondhand but very effective electric fan.
Has original style AC air filters, pipe and Y piece.
Has a Triplex (secondhand) laminated windscreen with new windscreen rubber, insert and clip.
Screen surround is extremely good secondhand from a USA spec TR4.
Dashboard, refurbished to the original spec.
New radiator cowl, top and bottom hoses and clips
The car has a painted and rebushed/sealed rear axle with good uprated lever arm shock absorbers all ‘over axle bodywork’ has been scraped/sanded/seam sealed and undersealed with top quality under body sealant, waxoyled cavities / underside etc., as necessary.
Front and rear bumpers and irons exist and go with the car but have been left off for that ‘rally’ look.
Powder blue surrey top, there is no soft top hood nor frame. The surrey top benefits from a new headlining, over padded insulation to minimise condensation with new rear glass seal fitted.
New original style black with white piped edged cockpit trims, wheel arch covers, rear quarter panels and two rear back boards.
Inertia reel seatbelts.
Black vinyl bucket type seats reupholstered with new foams, straps.
New wiper wheel boxes, arms and blades
New door aperture seals, inner and outer weatherstrips
New rear wheel cylinders, brake shoes, handbrake cables, levers, etc., all fitted, new brake pipes across the axle and rear flexi brake hose is all fitted, new calipers at front, pads, pins, anti-squeal shims etc., new brake servo and front end brake pipes., pads.
New heater hoses, link pipe and water transfer pipe.
New choke, speedo and rev counter cables
New propshaft universal joints.
15” TR6 wheels with embellishers.
The car has had a thorough shake down, it starts well, on the button, has lots of torque, handles well and is a very smooth and reliable drive.
