A rare Sunbeam Talbot 3.0 litre saloon 1939, virtually complete for restoration ,the car has been in the workshop of the same owner for many years over which time he did a lot of restorative work, the chassis has been cleaned an red leaded the front suspension looks like it has been rebuilt. The engine which is a 3181cc side valve six cylinder developing 80bhp@ 3800rpm looks as if it has had work and turns over on a battery or starting handle. The registration document has arrived and retains its original number
The sunbeam Talbot register informed me
I have known of the car for some years. Just over 1300 3 litre cars were made before the war stopped production and now very few of these saloons survive. You should have everything there to complete what would then be a fine, quite rare car; if not, I can help find any parts you may need.
The Club only has a record of 9 remaining 3 Litre Saloons in this country, 4 of which are on the road.
A very worthwhile rolling project only thing I can see missing is the sunroof panel, there are some spares with the car.
The car is located near York ,North Yorkshire
