The Norton Commando was first introduced in 1967 at the Earls Court Show with the first production machines & original model, the 'Fastback' completed in April 1968. When production examples of the first ‘Fastback’ machines became available to magazines for test in 1968 they were found to be endowed with exceptional performance and handling of the highest standard stated the "Motor Cycle" magazine.
This Commando is an original 1969 ‘Fastback’ & comes with documentation from both the Worldwide Norton Riders Club & the Norvil Motorcycle Company confirming its authenticity. It has been completely rebuilt to concourse condition to original specification using only original parts by the famous Norton specialist Les Emery. Les Emery has been building and tuning Norton & Norvil Racers for over 30 years & prides himself on his ability to produce a beautiful motorcycle - both visually and on performance.
It comes in its original colour of British Racing Green, the same colour as the very first models with stainless steel wheel rims & stainless steel nuts & bolts.
There is also the addition of electronic ignition & primary belt drive to increase its reliability & performance.
With less than 700 miles on the clock since it’s complete restoration & only 2 former keepers this concourse condition motorcycle is a great opportunity to own a fantastic piece of British motorcycling history & not only a great investment.
Possible PX for interesting classic car (particularly a 50’s, 60’s early or 70’s Alfa Romeo)– cash either way.
