PORSCHE 911 2400 S TARGA restored SOLD (1973) | | |
| | A rare opportunity to own and drive one of the few surviving original small bumper 911 2400 S Targa series “F”. This car is VIN Nr 9113310344, engine nr 6330868 gearchange nr 915/02 7333810 and was originally registered in Italy in January 1973, and still retains its original Italian papers and plates. Car comes with original Katakolor tinted glass and plastic 80-liter fuel tank.
I bought the car in 2001, and had a complete mechanical rebuild at no expense spared between 2004 and 2009. Jobs were performed at a famed Milan authorized Porsche workshop (Motortecnica, Mr Ruggero Bernardi). Over 20000 euro were invested on this 911, including:
- complete engine rebuild including original hydraulic chain tensioner upgrade, head rebuild, bearings, segments, etc
- complete fuel injection pump rebuild performed at local Bosch dealer
- brakes (caliper rebuild, new hoses, etc)
- new shock absorbers, new bushes, etc
- rebuild of its original 5-speed gearchange
- new clutch
- new tyres
- new batteries and battery switch
Copies of receipts are available. All restoration work was done using original Porsche replacement parts only. Brake and engine oils (Mobil 1 fully synthetic engine oil) are changed at regular intervals – last service was done April 17th, 2012. I normally drive the car every three-four weeks, never in the wet. I have always stored it in a heated garage. Car drives as new, I personally read 235 km/h on a test drive.
Body had been rustproofed and re-sprayed using original Porsche metallic grey before I bought the car. Interior and targa roof are in fair condition; car comes with a period MOMO steering wheel, original Porsche steering wheel and instruction booklet are included in the asking price.
Everything works but for the dashboard clock and for the interior courtesy light door-operated switch.
When I bough the car, odometer read approx 98.000 kms, now it reads approx 19.000 kms, car has Italian papers, is ASI registered, is MOT tested and insured. Can be seen and test driven in Milan on appointment.
After over 10 years of ownership I am reluctantly selling due to need of cash. Asking price is 42.500 GBP or 52.000 euro.
