Panhard et Lavassor Type X46 Landaulette For Sale (1924)The engine and chassis were built by the Panhard et Lavassor company in France, the chassis was shipped to Salmons & Sons for the unique Landaulette body to be added for a UK based Swiss businessman and is the only one ever made.
The engine of the right hand drive model is four cylinders of 2,300cc being of a sleeve valve design ,with a four speed gearbox both in good order,this allowed MH1738 to cruise in comfort at 50mph.
Following a long period of storage the car was re-commissioned by the original family being sold in 2004 to a Chesterfield based enthusiast who sold the car to the present owner in 2007.
The car is extremely origial with a lovely patina of age having avoided major restoration because of its cosseted history.The period fittings are retained with very good bodywork finished in maroon over black with black leather interior at the front and beige cloth in the rear passenger compartment
Since 2004 the car has toured the UK,France Belguim and Austria, as well as being used for weddings for which the unique landaulette body is much favoured.
The car has a current MOT.
