MG SA Sports 4 Door Saloon SOLD (1936) | | |
| | | http://www.panoramabay.co.uk | 1936 MG SA SPORTS 4 DOOR SALOON
finished in Two-tone blue Oxford blue met over Cambridge light blue met, full dark blue leather trim. This elegant vehicle has been the subject of a ground-up restoration to near concours condition (photographic record with the car). MG made only 2,700 versions of the SA worldwide from October 1935 -1939. This wonderful 6 cylinder car boasted 75.3bhp and was capable of cruising at 70mph all day long with a top speed of 85mph.
It has a large history folder consisting of the workshop instruction manual, write up on the MGSA Saloon, old road fund licences and licence holders, original buff-coloured registration document showing 6 owners, various invoices, correspondence, current V5C, service and lubrication charts, various write-ups on the MGSA, maintenance charts, various old MOT certificates dating back to 2003 which we believe confirms the mileage of 44,000 miles.
The original wire wheels have been dismantled, re-chromed and re-fitted which compliments the vehicle well. Fitted with the original large headlights finished in chrome with MG centre logos, also fitted with large chrome spotlights, chrome badge bar, original RAC blue and silver badge, MG badge, chrome mirrors, large chrome horns, chrome rear lights, engine side vents, sunshine roof, spare wheel cover with MG spinner with MG logo finished in chrome, opening windscreen and split rear windows.
The woodwork on this car is superb with inlaid woodwork throughout the interior. The centre of the dashboard is finished in gold and silver with cream Jaegar dials which illuminate at night giving a fabulous creamy glow. As you can tell - I am totally enamoured with this car. It is a work of art to a standard rarely seen these days. I have driven this car myself over 200 miles to the showroom in poor weather conditions at speeds of around 70mph for most of the motorway journey and the car did not miss a beat - a great testament to the restorer and a tribute to the quality of the MG marque
