BMW 320is, Italian M3, rare, 4 door M-technic 2. For Sale (1990) | | |
| For sale my 320is, this is a car built specifically for Italian and Portuguese markets only, please read more about it here: http://bit.ly/v7pFjN
Not to be confused with the more common 6 cylinder cars, this car has the much more noble and performing 4 cylinder - 16 valve engine found in the M3 E30, everything is the same both for engine and transmission. If you think that 6 cylinder is better, it's because you never tried one of these.
As the M3 it sports individual throttle bodies and Getrag close ratio gearbox with gears in reversed order (1st backward).
The car has never seen a body shop, it still retains its original paint: it is beautiful but obviously not in showroom conditions. It definitely doesn't hide anything bad. No rust whatsoever, it has always been stored in a lock up garage in Italy and always serviced with regular, quite short intervals. I used to work in a car parts shop and this car has never missed anything.
Recent works done are:
4 shock absorber, Bilstein front, custom at the back
4 Eibach sport springs (original springs are in the boot)
4 new tyres 205/55-R15, Bridgestone Potenza at the front, Toyo Proxes at the back.
4 new Zimmermann perforated discs, all the brake pads and hand-brake shoes.
New SACHS clutch kit, flywheel skimmed and balanced.
The gearbox, due to a very noisy bearing, has been open and overhauled, changing all the bearings, gaskets, oil seals and mounts.
New oil in differential and gearbox.
New guibo joint.
Steering rack replaced 10,000km ago circa.
New battery at the end of 2009, it's a 74Ah.
For some of the works there is history, for others not because I did them by myself (brakes, suspensions and battery, which is anyway marked for warranty purposes)
This particular car is one of the last ones ever produced, being #1154 of 1206.
If you went at the link above, you probably read that the saloon model wasn't as 'gifted' as the coupé model, but this particular car has many of the options available and all the options that were as standard on the 2 door model.
131,333 km, seats are in very nice conditions and are all sport version, the back one has armrest and headrests.
There are few glitches that are easily solvable, the biggest one being the need of repainting the front spoiler as it came from another car and it was not already in nice conditions.
The few glitches are greatly offset by the quantity and rarity of the spare parts I accumulated during the time, all stored in the boot.
I have a set in Flickr just for this car there are 130 high resolution photos I took last October. Please just contact me and I will send you the link.
The reason for the sale is because I first move to London in 2006, then in June 2011 I moved to Lithuania and now to Spain. The car has been stored covered in a dry and dark place at my uncle's facility during all this time. During all these years it has been started, washed and taken care of. A proof of this is that I bothered to buy a new 74Ah battery in 2009.
Although I love the car, logistic issues (and wife) are pushing me to sell it.
