I purchased the car back in November 2010, and since then well over £6000 has been spent in making this a car to be proud of. Extensive list of works that would fill a book included a £3000 body off chassis restoration by Willow Sports Cars of Newark, Notts.(photographic records incl.), this involved a complete strip of the car, chassis sandblasted, new outriggers, modified & strengthened seat mounts all zinc coated and powder coated.
All new poly bushes and ball joints fitted along with new front wishbones, handbrake cable, NEW O.E Clutch fitted, Bosch fuel pump and braided S/S brake hoses. In addition to this, it has a fully rebuilt cooling system with a re-cored radiator, water pump, NEW custom made aluminium swirl and expansion pots, new engine valley gasket, rocker gaskets with upgraded hex bolts, thermostat, Otter Switch, injector 'O' rings, S/S swan neck pipe and Silicon Hoses. Brand New OEM Bosch Headlight Reflector Bowls and lenses fitted. Now I appreciate that some may think all this work was over the top, however, I intended on keeping the car, and wanted a reliable car that I wouldn't have to keep taking off the road to do this and that. NOW this car is fabulous, and will not disappoint. The paint has a deep shine, with some light stone chipping around the front end, although this is subtle and doesn't detract from the appearance of the car. The interior is beautiful with Leven dash and switch gear, new hood and door seals, and door switches. Ipod connection with Alpine head unit. Everything works and drives like a dream. Sleeved exhaust system but includes new slot into tailpipe track-day silencers to calm things down a bit! Tyres are like new, brakes are EBC crossed drilled, with hardly any wear. The 500 series model alloys are also refurbished and unmarked. Fitted waterproof Cover included, although car is garaged.
This has to be one of the best overall condition Chimaera's you will find for the price and serious viewing is welcomed. Lack of time to use it forces my hand to sell sadly.
