| | | http://www.robinlawton.com | A fine example in all respects, this motor car spent much of its life in Australia before being extensively restored and repatriated in the late 1990s. Recent work has included a re-trim in the correct pattern, using black Connolly hide. The weather equipment is all in first class condition and the car is eminently useable offering a good road performance capable of cruising at 50-55 mph comfortably. Much history and information is provided, along with a number of original tools and copy of the information manual. The engine has also undergone extensive work by Templeton Engineering. This high quality vintage tourer is ready to enjoy.
The 14/40 first appeared in 1921 designed by Clarence King who had by then replaced Lawrence Pomeroy as Vauxhall's chief designer. The LM series appeared in 1924 and benefited from a more powerful engine together with four speed gear box, wire wheels and four wheel brakes.
