An extraordinary one owner Reliant Rialto Hatch SE with documented history and just 11,183 miles from new.
EQUIPMENT
Galvanised chassis, glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) body, locking fuel filler cap, two-speed heater, interior light, twin sun visors with passenger mirror, rear seat belts, quartz clock, ammeter gauge, water temperature gauge, oil pressure warning light, Grundig stereo radio cassette with two speakers, heated rear window, carpeted luggage space, luggage light, rear fog lamp.
EXTERIOR
This unique Reliant was ordered in Parchment, (Beige), and still looks incredible with a new low mileage shine. All the decals and vehicle badging are correct and present. The N/S/F coach line has been scuffed very slightly and an out of sight paint flake is present in a one inch square section due to stone chip. The vehicle is still fitted with the Main Dealer number plates and rear window sticker. Dealer branding extends to the tax disc holder and key fob!
INTERIOR
The interior of this outstanding Reliant Rialto is in fabulous factory original condition finished in Grey crushed velour trim with red piping. All the controls, gauges and switches function perfectly. The vehicle has been fitted with colour coded tailor made floor mats to protect the carpets and all the trim remains as new. The white ‘choke’ inscription has faded and a small ‘2p’ size circular stain is barely visible on the dash where an air freshener was stuck. The front window still has the tyre pressure sticker present. With folding rear seats allowing 30cu.ft, (849 litres and 48in behind the drivers seat this little car is very versatile putting much larger vehicles to shame!
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
This superb example is in perfect mechanical order having covered such few miles and having been fully maintained. The 848cc aluminium water cooled engine produces 40bhp and accelerates rapidly due to the overall weight of the car only being 794kg! The four speed gearbox is tight, precise and offers a short shift movement which is truly addictive and immense fun!
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Correct wheels with undamaged factory fitted grey wheel trims. Goodyear G800+S 145 SR10 fitted to all three wheels and decent tread. The hydraulically operated brakes need firm pressure which is normal with three wheelers and offers good feel.
HISTORY FILE
Truly incredible. Supplied new to a Mr King on the 29th May 1989 for a total of £5728 by the Pointer Reliant Main Dealers in Norwich the customer kept all paper work from the original New Car Order Form, to the Part Exchange Invoice, (a Reliant Rialto naturally!) and service invoices from the same Dealer. A full complement of MOT certificates up to 2005 when the vehicle was taken off the road due to the owners age.
All hand books exist including; Rialto Owner’s Handbook, Reliant Key to service booklet with stamps, Grundig WKC3039 Instruction Manual. All contained within the A5 Owners Information Pack. A full set of keys including the metal key number tag is present secured by the Main Dealers Key Ring.
Incredibly frugal running costs being classed as a ‘Tricycle’ with very low road tax and fantastic fuel economy. Any inspection warmly welcomed and encouraged to appreciate what a unique opportunity this car will offer to its new owner.
