Honda Integra DA6 XSi - only 46,000km For Sale (1990)

If you're looking for one of these cars, you'll know just how rare they are in the UK, and you're unlikely to find one as nice as this. This model of Integra was never sold in the UK so not only is this a rare car in itself, it is possibly the best example you are likely to come across. Underneath, the car shares many parts with Civics and CRXs of the era (plus the 1993+ Integra, the DC2 shape that people are more familiar with), so sourcing parts is not an issue. The car was imported mid-2010 and I am the only owner in the UK. The Integra DA6 was the first road-going Honda to use the DOHC VTEC system (the CRX got the same engine slightly later the same year). It has the B16a 1.6 engine with 160bhp and a 5-speed gearbox. The 'box in this car has no crunching, grinding or synchromesh issues, and I used high quality Amsoil gearbox fluid when I renewed the oil last year. I've owned this car for almost 2 years now and covered only 8k kms (I've always had a daily driver for the mundane journeys and for use in poor weather), and in that time the car has had 3 oil changes, using only high quality Gulf or Fuchs oil and a Fram oil filter. The car still records in kilometres, and the speedo still reads in KMs too. This is not an issue for MoT - it isn't a legal requirement for a vehicle to run in MPH but if you wished you could have it converted to run in MPH. I've just chosen to keep it as it is, you quickly get used to it. The current reading on the clocks is only slightly over 46,000km. No, that is not a typo! That converts to only 28,000 miles and as you can see from the photos, the condition of the car will attest to that. There is little to no wear on any of the contact points in the interior - the arm rest area on the doors, the steering wheel, the seats, etc. The car has the original floor mats all round, and only the drivers mat shows any wear at the heel area, as you would expect. I bought the car in completely standard condition and spec, and have chosen to carry out only a couple of small alterations which I feel are in keeping with the car and compliment it nicely - the grey Recaro seats are originally from a Mitsubishi Evolution III, and match the interior perfectly. I had the mounting rails professionally fabricated at an engineering workshop and the seats really do look as though they came in the car from new. The wheels I have sourced are rare and genuine Japanese-market 16"x7" two-piece SSR Reverse Mesh, wrapped in excellent Hankook RS2 tyres. I had these wheels imported from California where they had been previously fitted to another DA Integra. The owner of that car imported them from Japan to the USA. They are period-correct wheels of a similar age to the car and I think suit the car very well. The only other alteration I have made is to fit some adjustable coilover suspension to make the car handle better, as it was rather floaty on its standard suspension. The suspension is a MeisterR fully adjustable kit (height, damping) that was put together specifically for this car by Jerrick, the owner of MeisterR, and to my knowledge is still the only kit made for a DA6 Integra. There is another DA6 in the UK that has a MeisterR kit fitted, but it is running a kit designed for a Honda Civic of the same age - whilst that kit bolts up to an Integra, the Civic has shorter rear shocks, which ends up giving you far less adjustability on a DA6 than is required (the car sits too low even on the highest setting). The kit on this car eliminates that problem, and it improves the handling dramatically; as with all MeisterR suspension, it rides nicely and allows height adjustment without altering spring load, meaning that the ride is unaffected by raising or lowering the car. It is great fun to thread down a twisty road! The car comes quite highly equipped for such an old vehicle - it has power steering, digital climate control (blows very cold), electric windows, electric sunroof, electrically folding and adjusting wing mirrors and a leather steering wheel. The car is still complete with it's original Gathers stereo and speakers including branded Gathers rear speaker covers. It also has a rather interesting vintage Alpine CD changer - you can load up to 3 CDs into each one of the front-loading cartridges (of which there are 3) meaning you can have 9 CDs ready to play. I must be honest, the changer is a little temperamental at times, but I've left it in because it would be a real shame to remove it and lose some of the originality of the car. I tend to just use my iPod and a cassette adapter into the Gathers head unit. I have also had a Clifford Concept 2 category 1 alarm and immobiliser fitted, and the car now has remote central locking. It also has proximity sensors when the system is armed that can be adjusted for sensitivity or de-activated altogether. It has been extremely reliable during my ownership, the only fault I've had being a recent issue with the ignition. I've had the distributor and HT leads replaced and it has cured the fault. It has also just had a brand new genuine Honda rear exhaust section fitted, a brand new Bosch battery, and I have a new Honda alternator belt and new NGK spark plugs to fit. I also have a pair of new Honda rear trailing arm bushes that I bought due to expecting the current ones to quickly deteriorate due to the car being newly lowered but that never actually happened, so the new bushes will come with the car as spares for as and when they are needed. The rear lamp seals have also been replaced with genuine Honda items and I've replaced the air filter for a brand new Honda item too. I still have the original wheels, seats and suspension that will all come with the car when it goes to its new owner if the alterations aren't to your taste. This is a very special car indeed and is extremely rare in the UK; whilst I know of a handful of other DA6s in this country, I've never actually seen another out on the road - I've often had comments from people saying how nice it is, often followed by "...erm, what is it?" It's a car for the true Honda fan, and those in the know do know exactly what it is. I'm pricing this very keenly due to my new car being ready to collect. I'm only selling it due to reducing my car ownership from 2 cars (this one and a BMW E39 5-series) down to one, more practical all rounder, in the form of a Subaru Legacy estate. As the bodywork is 100% original, the centre of the bonnet has faded somewhat as can be seen from the photos. If you wanted the car perfect then it would need respraying. Other than that, the car wears it's 22 years extremely well. For the car as it is, including the alloy wheels, Recaros and suspension, the price is £3800. The car plus these extras stand me at a good deal more than that, so I think this is very good price. If you do not want the wheels or seats, a deal can be done if you contact me.
