| | Hillman Super Minx, original condition, 1965 registration, original condition, with only 26 thousand miles, 8 months mot NO advisories, only taken out couple times since last mot, road tax free.It has a 1.6cc petrol engine, manual 4 speed gearbox, comfortably cruises at 60-65mph, has had aftermarket front seatbelts installed for safety. Lots paperwork history, original manual, haynes and other mechanical manuals, anti-theft steering wheel column lock.
The cars history was she was dry stored in 1985 for preservation at 22,000 miles, she was put back on the road in mid 90s where the last owner who kept it for nearly 15 years did barely a few hundred miles a year, hence current mileage of 26,000 miles, backed by mots since 1985. This mileage really shows in the way she drives, you dont expect a car with 47 years to drive this well, no having to find gears or bitting points, very good engine and transmission, always starts on button.
Interior is in very good condition with hardly any wear as can be seen from photos, exterior is in good condition considering its in original, barelly noticable paint wear on upper part front wings and bottom passenger front door you can just see a paint line from a previous minor repair, some light fadeness to back paint altought will try tcut it out, one of bonnet front edges lower then other from previous repair. Ive been quoted £200 local paint shop to get her looking pristine, I personally think it adds a bit of character.
If your looking for a hillman super minx this is overall a lovelly example, its done no miles since mot no advisories and free road tax, always attracts attention due to its rarity and good condition for a 47 year old car, its also practical enough to use as an everyday car since its so easy to drive and cheap to run. Car is located on isle of wight, allow extra £50 ferry travel costs from Portsmouth train station terminal, ferry takes half hour.
