1970s "The Snake Pit", one of George Barris's best creations. Built in the early 1970s all in steel. It has 6 V8 Ford Cobra engines each displacing 351 cubic inches with a projected total of aproximately 2,000 horse power. She is 23 foot long on a purpose built trailer. 12 Holley four-barrel carburettors, 48 exhausts, 2 Ford C6 automatic transitions. The theory was that it was built for a land speed record attempt but we disagree with this, we suspect that it was made for a motion picture that was never produced. For those who are unfamiliar with George Barris, he built the 1966 Batmobile, a 1921 Oldsmobile touring car turned into a truck for The Beverley Hillbillies, The 1969 Bugaloos Buggy and a replic of KITT from Knight Rider and the Monkeemobile from 'The Monkees', we are reliable informed that the monkeemobile was sold for $315,000 aproximately 2 and a half years ago. He also has built many novelty vehicles for celebrities; these include golf carts for Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, Ann-Margaret, Glen Cambell and Elton John; and 25 modified Mini Mokes for a record company contest involving the Beach Boys. He would also modify cars for Hollywood stars and others. Some examples include a Cadillac limousine for Elvis Presley; custom Pontiac station wagons for John Wayne, and a pair of "his & hers" 1966 Ford Mustang convertibles for Sonny and Cher.

The car has just been completely repainted to its original spec and colour scheme to a higher standard that the original, costing over £20,000, purely because technology and paint have improved. Ideal for any serious collector or museum. Valued in 1971 at $100,000. Serious and substantial offers invited.

The car has 6 wheels, is 23 feet long and comes with a purpose built trailer

The car is being sold for display purposes.
