Citroen Mehari Restored by Simon Day. For Sale (1969)
Up for sale, with deep regret, is my beautiful Citroen Mehari. I saw a car like this in Nice last year and simply had to buy one. This car is probably one of the best ones in the UK. It is a well known car and has been valued in the past at over £10,000 and it's still rising. It was restored by Simon Day, a Citroen enthusiast who trades as The Tin Snail Company and he is also an author. I have 32 photos of the restoration which go with this car. It has been totally rebuilt including: new plastic body panels; space frame bead blasted; galvanised and wax oiled chassis; new wheels; headlights; brakes; rebuilt engine; crank; cam; pistons; new carb; cylinder heads overhauled; new windscreen and I could go on...
The car drives as perfectly as it should do and could even be used daily. I haven't done so and subsequently this Mehari has done under 1,000 miles since I bought it which was for both an investment and great way of having some fun. The only thing to make this concours would be some new windows which can be bought in France as the current ones are marked.
This Mehari looks like a brand new car and gives a huge amount of pleasure to both the driver and other road users; everyone smiles as you go past and, being based on a 2CV, is particularly economical.
This car comes with a big folder of history, old mots, Mehari hand book in french! and some citroen magazines.
It has a brand new MOT and historic tax so it's free. Insurance is just £150 as it has classic car status.
If you have any questions or if want to see the car, which is in Brighton, ring me, David on 07802828621
You can fall in love with this car; I certainly did but I have recently moved and subsequently do not have a garage so we have to get an amicable divorce!
Thank you for your time .
