I have owned this Jaguar since may 2005 & have kept it in running order always. It has only had 2 previouse owners since new (father & son) & is in very original unrestored condition. All the body panels I believe are its original panels including sills & are in very solid condition. Previouse owners being engineers added period 'Coombs' modification back in the sixties, mods include vented bonnet, 420 brakes, straight port head & straight thru exhaust giving a most gloriouse sound. Original cylinder head, cam covers & air filters etc have been kept on the shelf to maintain this as a 'matching numbers' car if so desired. It has reclining front seats with picnic tables, the interior is all original in red leather with a lovely aged pattina about it, the headliner is original & undamaged although discoloured. The wood is all original but in need of restoration although undamaged, just old & dull.Everything works on the car, even the courtesy lights including the one in the glove box.The history file retains all its old MOT's many bills tax discs etc supporting in genuine low milage of 71000 miles. I have also obtained a heretige certificate supplied by the Jaguar Hertige Trust, originally supplied by Henleys Limited, London. The registration number is it original too. Previous to my ownership I think the jacking point have been replaced as well as the 'crows feet'. The mot runs out about now but I'm shure it will pass when I present it in the next week or so without to much tinkering. This car appears as a barn find having been kept inside my workshop unit on a farm only being used periodically when the sun shines. (not often enough!) It drives very well with steering box power steering & pulls strongly barking that gloriouse sound! Unfortunately the clutch is just starting to slip as I power up Goudhurst hill, so nows a good time to think about restoring it. The only mods on this car were done in the sixties to emulate the much sort after Coombs cars, so no nasty rack coversions or XJ seats fitted which ruin many MK2's of today. Don't really want to sell it but offers arround asking price might make me stick my hand out! No silly offers please, if it doesn't sell i'll eventually get round to restoring it myself. I'm sure there is loads I have forgotten to say so call me or email & I'll do my best to answer all your questions. Have a nice day :-)
