mint For Sale (1989)Hello, my name is Don Coulon. I have a highly sought after, one of a kind, mint,Classic Range Rover always sitting in my garage, that unfortunately and very reluctantly am going to sell.I use to own a vintage Volvo P-1800 growing up and would like to own one again. I purchased it (the Rover) from an extremely wealthy lady up in La Jolla, a family friend of ours (my sister owns a pastry shop up in La Jolla,;Michelle Coulon Dessertier". So the woman I bought the Rover from always had it professionally serviced, every 2000 miles. I am the second owner. The Rover is the best you'll ever see, a real looker. Jim, the former owner of The British Garage told me it was the nicest one he'd ever come across, and he's seen quite a lot of them. He told me if I ever wanted to sell it to make sure I let him know.Unfortunately Jim moved, I think to Colorado. The car is immaculate inside and out. new paint from'Triple A Auto Body & Paint, (1420 Morena Blvd. 619 276-4682. I had the leather seats, carpet and dashboard re-dyed from Ocean Beach boat & auto Upholstery, 619 223-9797. The rims (original) powder coated black from RW Little Co. 619 297-3705, they even powder coated the lug nuts black, new tires from Ocean Beach Tire Center,619 758-7663. Everything is original and fully functional, power seats, 2-way power sunroof, I even bought new hydraulic lifts for the rear window (so yes, it actually stays up) New Kenwood CD player(yes I kept the old one).Straight body, which is "rare for that year and considering it's am aluminum body(minus the tailback and hood of coarse. Had it checked out at Car Fax (of all places) I can't stand those people, but the car body is 'straight, straight chassis, clean title and no accidents, ever. I'm not particularly in a 'rush to sell it, but I saw a rare Vintage P-1800 Volvo I'm trying hard to get. I was actually at the Auto Zone last week and some guy pulls up in a brand new 2012 Range Rover and wanted to buy my car, on the spot, cash ! He said he just preferred the classics more than his new one. Unfortunately or fortunately he caught me off guard, and I wasn't ready to sell. Price goes to the highest bidder, and if I don't get what I want, I won't sell. As it is I'm sure I'll be taking a HUGE loss in Investment. I estimate I've at least $25,000 into it. 'Hagerty' actually appraised it, for believe this, $40,000. I was hoping someone would steal it so I could collect the insurance money, lol. I mean at Atlantic British alone I've spent a small fortune. New hood insulation,$80.000.Decal (bonnet)$50,00,Decal(tailgate)$50,00, A new Lamp Assembly Rear RH cost me $200.00 plus an additional $80.00 for Express shipping. And my wife keeps asking me where all our money is going, lol. Well it's my baby, what can I say, on your 'baby' you spare no expense, right.
Engine wise, theirs simply to much to list ; Unfortunately 99% of my work was done at The British Garage, which isn't a terrible thing(although lately I've heard a few let's say 'not so good things about them) I guess that's what happens when you change owners. But the main thing is they 'gouge' to the max. But they have a Master Mechanic, I forget his name, I think he's from Germany or something, and he "really knows his shit, the best I've ever met, although if I would of known about your garage sooner, I would of been there, I think I met you once with my wife, we live in Point Loma. Although I've found a great new place as well called',Premier Rover', real honest with that Range Rover 'family' atmosphere which is so welcoming, especially after going to places like The British Garage ; All New ; fuel filter, fuel pump seal.fuel pump RRC,Gas Tank RR Classic, hose clamp, alternator, belt alternator RR early years,Brake pad set classic, starter motor Range Rover classic, valve stem seals, valve cover screw classic short&long,BG cooling system sealer conditioner,thermostat&gasket,O-ring,oil filter adapter&ring RR classic, front timing cover gasket(early)water pump gasket, timing cover assembly(1989 classic RR),oil pump gasket, new radiator Disco 1,exhaust downpipe gasket, valve cover gasket(rubber),Intake manifold gasket(2 ERR 7283),intake manifold gasket (LKJ 500020),cylinder head bolt (96mm ERR 2944), cylinder head bolt(66mm ERR 2943),exhaust lug nuts, cylinder head gasket(steal),exhaust stud, exhaust gasket(head to manifold),Bilstein schocks, new coil springs(Range Rover Classic, all 4 stock springs, etc. whew, and yes theirs lots more I haven't listed. And yes I have kept "all' the sales receipts, records and documenst in impeccable condition.I even have an original shop manual for it, all 3 million pages. Vin# SALHV1248KA390863
