Vauxhall Chevette HSR, genuine factory example SOLD (1980) | | |
| | | http://www.percvialmotorco.co.uk | DEPOSIT TAKEN. silver, check fabric trim. This is a very rare genuine factory Chevette HSR in immaculate order. Only 34 road going HSR's were built and it is believed that only seventeen cars survive. The HSR's were hand built by Bill Blydenstein at the famous DTV workshops in Shepreth, Cambridgeshirea and differ from the standard HS in having twin 48mm Dellorto carburettors, a tubular exhaust manifold, a five link rear suspension set up, plastic boot lid, bonnet and wheelarches. This car has been verified by the Droop Snoot Group as a correct, original car and carries a certification plaque under the bonnet. The engine has recently been rebuilt by JS Motorsport and now produces 184 BHP at the flywheel. You will see from the pictures that the airbox is different but the original item comes with the car. The rest of it is standard and unmolested and the last owner of twelve years has overseen a thorough and sympathetic restoration over that time including a full front suspension rebuild with all new items, a gearbox rebuild and a rear axle overhaul. The car appears never to have been welded or damaged and has no rust issues. It is believed that it was repainted some fifteen years ago and has been very carefully stored and used since then. A rare opportunity to acquire an unmodified HSR in superb condition throughout.
